The United Way for Fulton County is accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors in Fulton County. One applying senior from each high school in Fulton County will be awarded a $500 scholarship.
This scholarship is designed to recognize students who have demonstrated a commitment to serving Fulton County by making a positive impact on our community throughout their years in high school and is available to students who will attend a post-secondary accredited degreed or certified program and reside in Fulton County.
Seven (7) recipients will receive a onetime award of $500. The awards are intended to help defray the cost of educational expenses. One student from Canton, Lewistown, Astoria, VIT, Spoon River Valley, Farmington and Cuba high schools meeting the scholarship criteria will be selected to receive the scholarship. If a home schooled or online student is selected, they will be counted towards the high school they are eligible to attend.
Awards will be based on the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to community service and the extent to which the applicant has impacted his or her own community through leadership or service. This is not a need or academic achievement-based scholarship.
Applications need to be received by Friday, March 15, 2024.
